The unique molecular structure of these materials has two distinct pathways that allow water to pass through to the eye without reducing the lens’ ability to transmit oxygen. The lens can move freely on the eye and allows plenty of oxygen through the lens.

Oxygen is essential for corneal health. Insufficient oxygen may cause corneal swelling and/or lead to irritated, red eyes and uncomfortable lens wear. AIR OPTIX® breathable lenses offer high oxygen transmissibility to minimize corneal swelling.
